Frequently Asked Questions
-
Your first appointment will be a 55-minute comprehensive assessment of your medical history, current lifestyle, and personal goals. Your dietitian will use your goals as a roadmap for future appointments.
Follow-up appointments will be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or monthly and will be either 30 or 60 minutes long.
-
One-on-one counseling sessions begin with an initial session with your dietitian to assess your nutrition history, medical background, and goals for your wellness journey. Follow-up calls will dive deeper into your nutritional assessment, provide personalized support, and assist you in making sustainable changes to improve your health. We suggest a minimum of 4 sessions so you can experience the full beneficial impact that nutritional counseling provides to your daily life.
-
Initially, it’s best to schedule your first 2 appointments close together to dive in and get started when motivation is high. We can then tailor a follow-up plan that works best for your individual needs. We see the best results with long-term follow up and you’ll work with your dietitian to develop the plan that’s best for you.
-
Initial nutrition assessments are 55 minutes. Follow-up sessions vary depending on complexity and the unique situation. However, in general, follow-up sessions are between 30-60 minutes.

We require that all clients keep a credit card on file.
If you cancel a session within 24 hours of the session start time, or if you no-show a session, your card on file will be billed for the full rate of the session. There is no fee for cancelling more than 24 hours in advance, but clients who repeatedly cancel sessions may lose their standing appointment time.
-
In most cases, you don’t need a referral for nutrition counseling. However, in order to submit claims to your insurance plan or provide you with a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement, we might need some information from your primary care provider in order to fill out the required documentation. We’ll discuss this with you prior to your initial session if it’s necessary.
-
We can provide you with super bills upon request. You can then submit these super bills to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Some insurance companies may require a diagnosis for reimbursement. If this is the case with your insurance company, we’ll communicate with your physician and therapist to get any relevant diagnoses on file — we may need your help with this! If this is the case, you will pay the out-of-pocket rates.
